Re: Sheath Designs for critique
I'd say the first one, as I have been looking at a ton of those sheaths the past couple of months when I was working on a similar sheath, which hangs vertically. For fun, perhaps you might want to check this link out, it is in Russian but plenty of pics. Ken http://forum.zadi.ru/viewtopic.php?f=20&a...

Re: Dwarven Tinderbox
Looks great, Greg, and I'd love to see some engraving on that box, in the Dwaven style, perhaps ala Gullinbursti's style?

Re: Cot, hall, and hearth ... what does a Ranger come home to?
Oh, I'd missed that one Mirimarn! How cool! And iiiiinteresting quote he references: ‘Not a beggar,’ said Aragorn. ‘Say a captain of the Rangers, who are unused to cities and houses of stone .’ And he commanded that his banner should be furled; and he did off the Star of the North Kingdom a...

Re: Cot, hall, and hearth ... what does a Ranger come home to?
One has to remember as well that the Dunedain kept to ground so well as not to make such a presence that they'd attract the attention of Sauron. The Chieftains well knew that if any organized force came upon them from Mordor that it would have spelled the end of the Men of Westernesse, so in my mind...

Greg, that is FANTASTIC work! Once again, raising that bar, 2017 is the year of the Ranger for the group! I can't wait to see what embellishments you decide to go with!

New Sheath for my Bushcraft knife
Hi all, A couple of months ago, I purchased an inexpensive bushcraft knife (see review here: http://middleearthrangers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3542 ) I love the knife but not the sheath, so I thought to do something a bit more aligned to what I'd carry with my kit. So, seaching the interw...

Re: 2017 New Skill / Ranger Goal Challenge!
Well, another year. I'd like to do more with my kit, and acutally do somethng with it :) also, getting into making sheaths, so want to get better at that, and start back to writing and perhaps try to sell something, and find a way to meet up with more of my Ranger brothers and sisters. 2017 is our y...

Re: Cloak hoods .. how did you sew yours?
Mine is a full hood, lined with black cotton, very comfortable but it does bang around a bit, as Greg said. It does hide the face well in the shadows, and I can wear a helmet with it, however :) My seam was so ugly I covered it with a bit of trim, had I a chance to redo it, I might go with a seperat...
