Re: Anyone cook a goose over their fire?
Late to the party so I assume your goose is cooked (never thought I would have a chance to use that in context) but a really simple way is to just hang it from string above your fire. I've done plenty of chickens and duck that way on an asado cross but have seen others do birds as large as turkey, y...

Re: Leather Pouches from scraps. Video Tutorial.
Video is quite well done, spacing and time lapses all work well. I notice you have quite a nice leather working toolbox. You could consider doing a small video explaining the tools and what's required there as your average novice may be looking at the bare minimum setup they would need to make somet...

Re: Hidden Depths
Thanks mate.... How are you getting on with the other work of fiction I sent you? Poorly! But only on account of not having begun. That's entirely on me, I've just had so much on my plate lately and I want to relish it and not do it at work or something stupid so I'm waiting for an alone moment in ...

Re: New utility/fighting knife
I just don't understand why they are allowed to confiscate and destroy stuff that's legal to own in the UK, surely that just counts as theft? It's due to ambiguous legal definitions. Anything that can be classified as a weapon is technically up for the ban treatment. Another term I hate is 'offensi...

Eofor, thank you so much. I can’t tell you how much your words mean. I need a few more miles under my belt before I feel worth of such praise. Thankfully my auto immune disease seems to be in retreat, I've been crafting and am back in the gym building my strength and fitness back up. Pack walks sta...

Re: New utility/fighting knife
but the thing I can never understand is that he has successfully sent me a knife since, so sometimes it works and other times it doesn't?? It quite literally comes down to the person operating the X ray that day. If they decide to flag it then they do and others will just let it though. It's a horr...

Eventually, I'll upgrade, but I've yet to find a forged grill that would work for me. I get it, and I understand your reasoning it just stood out a bit. Perhaps you might need to design and commission something yourself? Elleths little cookpot from Royal Oak is still one of my all time favourite th...

Re: On the planning of outings
Late sorry. A lot depends on who is attending and the event itself. We can organise a local event with our core members within a week or two as we know that all our kit and skills are on the same level but if we plan one several hours away in the snow with attendees we haven't had out on the trail w...

Re: New utility/fighting knife
It's not even imports, DHL and most of the major courier companies won't ship knives or bladed weapons out of the UK (my sword almost got destroyed in such a debacle)ForgeCorvus wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 6:51 pm Iodo: I'm a re-enactor and I have to be aware of the legal hoops I have to jump through.
