Scottish Targe for Wilderness Skirmishing
The Scottish Targe seems like it would be a good choice for wilderness skirmishing. It is lighter and smaller than some of its larger cousins which makes it more mobile and easier to lug around. Of course, those qualities are also limitations. While a shield has desirable qualities for one-on-one co...

Hiker Found Tied to a Tree in NC
Yet another reason why Rangers should be armed and know how to use what they carry: http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/hiker-64-found-tied-tree-near-blue-ridge-parkway-trail-n575171 I'd love to see somebody try and pull that crap on one of the women of this forum! Hee...hee...hee (malicious laugh)....

Re: Video: Horseshoe Bedroll and Haversack
Here's a video from Kenneth Kramm. He's growing on me. He's genuinely connected to the wild and he draws from authentic historical sources and is not afraid to identify as a ninja. My kinda guy. Notice the spear that he's carrying. I have seen some of his videos. Here is one that deals with a bivou...

Re: Video: Weapons & Armour While Travelling or Adventuring
I thought of the Romans, too. They were able to go great distance at speed. They were also full-time, professional soldiers who constantly trained and had a supply train. I also remembered that Eledhwen--who as you know does historical Roman Reenactment--prefers a small, round shield for Rangering. ...

I think that the first half of this video can easily apply to use in ME:
The horseshoe carry wouldn't be my first choice, but it can work with quivers.

I think many of these points apply even more to Rangers who are also concerned with stealth, camouflage and moving silently.

The Armored Combat League--Harlem Knight Fight
This is not exactly Rangery but it is still related: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3581954/Fight-knight-Meet-men-dress-medieval-armor-use-swords-axes-bash-s-heads-sport.htm l They don't allow thrusting which puts swords at a considerable disadvantage but it is interesting to see some of th...
