Re: "What Brings You Here" Open Discussion
I did notice and love that Cimrandir got a set of three dyed arrows. Brilliant idea there, Greg. Sadly, mine are still waiting for me to stop being so wishy-washy on choosing a proper bow. Perhaps this spring I can decide on a direction and get out to use them.

Re: An unexpected letter
Oh and your gift has already seen use! I took a bunch of our new cards out on an event this weekend and it concealed the modern nature of them perfectly. It was a VERY thoughtful gift. https://i.imgur.com/FdFn5i2m.jpg Those cards are just adorable. Thankyou! We wanted something a bit diff...

Re: WETA Strider's bedroll
I mean, I can't fault them for trying to run a business. Promoting yourself gotta be done somehow. Just seems a little out of tune to use Tolkien quotes to sell things but ultimately that's just my two unasked for cents.

Whelp, I just discovered this randomly on Instagram and I'm completely sold. This artwork is one of my favorite things in a long time. Simply amazing stuff from Larry MacDougall. And check out his Tom Bombadil!

Aww shucks, ya'll. Didn't intend to hijack the thread in such a fashion but I appreciate it. The jobs got it's ups and downs like any other but I feel extremely lucky to be doing it everyday. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Some assorted Dúnedain ceramics
So Yule 2020 I was quite taken by theowl's gift of a mug to caedmon and the design elements used to decorate the pieces. Last year I had a bit of money left over and decided to reach out to theowl for the source of his gift. He graciously sent the name of the craftsman and after talking to the artis...

Ah, I didn’t think that one through! I think I stated it was September still when I entered. Didn’t consider the implications of that bit. Very cool though and I did like seeing the “gathering of the Rangers.”

Re: WETA Strider's bedroll
I'm fairly certain they don't have any connection to WETA. Certainly from the "making of" sections all those years ago the WETA crew all sounded like locals. Shut down b/c Russian.... ugh. :( Well to be fair, I think the shutdown was coming from the Russian side, not the other way around....

Hey, I do believe I've seen your gear pictures on one of the Indy Facebook pages! That's so cool and you look great!Ghostsoldier wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:14 amWell, that's awesome to hear; I've also been doing an Indy impression myself for the last few years.

Re: How do you choose to wear your arrows?
. I wonder if there’s a design that would allow for both a back and belt configuration. Sure - a quiver's ultimately just a tube of leather or wicker or whatever. Punch a couple holes at the top, some at the bottom, and lace your strap(s) on wherever you need them. Or add leather keepers or rings a...

Are you talking Old-World style pubs or bars explicitly themed in a Lord of the Rings style?

Re: My new cloak - a dark grey sagum from ECHO Historical Textile.
Thank you to you both! Yes, I'm not terrible concerned over a minor thing like length honestly. I only mention it as a comparison to the real-world historical record. I think a shorter length works better for what we do anyway and when it comes to to sleep, I can always turn it diagonally. I have to...

I want to thank you Greg for starting that thread. Like I said in the PMs, I've not ever joined a role-play thread before and I have to admit that I was a little nervous to start writing again. I needn't have feared though. Everyone set things up so naturally that it was a breeze to continue the sto...

Re: What brings you here?
Cimrandir Epilogue Cimrandir padded steadily next to the horse Halbarad's coin had bought. Despite being the best of few options, she was an older mare and he wanted to take extra care of her at the beginning of his journey. There was no sense in running her into the ground before need required it....

Re: How do you choose to wear your arrows?
I had originally planned to carry my arrows in a belt quiver but I’m coming around to the back quiver notion for sure. I wonder if there’s a design that would allow for both a back and belt configuration. A little bit of modularity depending on the situation. The trick would be making sure it isn’t ...
