Re: Oaths and cursing
Orcs and trolls spoke as they would, Without any love of words or things; And their language was actually more degraded and filthy than I have shown it. I do not suppose that any will wish for a closer rendering, though models are easy to find. The Lord of the Rings, Appendix F, The Languages and P...

Re: Eriargarch - Blade of the Dúnedain
Eriargarch made her way through the postal system a few weeks ago and I'm finally getting around to posting up some photos!

Re: Light Source.
If needs must, candles with a tin would probably work the best. I carry a couple in the event of needing to mend or repair gear. The firelight just isn't concentrated enough. Fair enough. My eyes are bad enough that a candle still isn’t going to do much so I usually call it quits with the hiking ea...

Re: "Unpacked" Video Series
Right. To be clear, this was the configuration I was referring to. I don't think I would ever attach anything to the quiver itself. But I like the way you have it set up here Elleth. Having the straps criss-crossing here and almost supporting each other seems right to me. I have my crannog bag on my...

Re: Stormbringer knife
I can claim no expertise in Sindarin. I know only what the users on the Sindarin Discord offered. I’d imagine the p becomes a b through some sort of mutation or another. Honestly, there’s enough mis-spellings in real-world engravings, I can quite easily see some poor Bree smith not understanding the...

Re: Stormbringer knife
Asking around, someone recommended this translation.

And I like Glǽmscribe for translation into Tengwar.I'd say *hanar Gwaebind* "(a) brother of Wind-ridge."

Re: "Unpacked" Video Series
It does indeed! And it makes me happy I asked as I would never have thought of those problems until well after I was done making the bits. Collective knowledge eh? With the recent posts in Elleth's Quiver and Gear thread and the pictures within, I'm still a little tempted to try the across the back ...

Re: Light Source.
Frankly, even in modern-day style camping I don't need much light after dark aside from the campfire. Then again, I like sleep so I prep my things before sundown and then head to bed early. I wouldn't even worry about having a smaller light source as in my opinion it's probably more trouble than it'...
Re: Axe Carry
Honestly, yeah. It sounds like you might need to just carry it off your belt and shift it to somewhere else in your set-up.
Re: Axe Carry
Yeah, I have to echo redhand here. I'm not understanding what's so dangerous about a (sheathed) hand-axe being carried on your belt? Of course, I don't consider mine a weapon as it's just a tool and so I have no need for a "quick-draw." Therefore it's usually passed through the straps of m...

Re: Eriargarch - Blade of the Dúnedain
Congratulations Cimrandir on obtaining a very fine piece of art. The good taste and talent exhibited on this forum is an inspiration to me. The pictures are great, it will be a joy to have in ones hand. Thank you! The only good taste I have is the one in craftsfolk, I'm afraid haha. Goodnight! That...

Re: The making of a Dunedain Snapsack
Well, dang!
I had been planning on making my own style of snapsack to try to avoid homogeneity with the rest of the group but with such wonderful instructions, I would be quite the fool not to follow them!
Thank you for taking the time to write all this up and put it together Elleth!
