Darkness, absence, empty, alone,
Here evil sought in vain,
When at last t’was overthrown,
Here it was cast again.
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

The Void, Melkor searched there for the flame imperishable, and was later cast there after his defeat.

That's right.

I shine as the moon and the stars,
And through them alone I am seen,
Though I am not eas’ly discerned from afar,
A great welcome to friends I have been.
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

The west door of Moria.
I am Ringulf the Dwarven Woodsman, I craft leather, wood, metal, and clay,
I throw axes, seaxes, and pointy sticks, And I fire my bow through the day.
Come be my ally, lift up your mead! We'll search out our foes and the Eagles we'll feed!

I was thinking specifically of the substance Ithildin, but your answer fits the riddle just as well, if not better. :)

A jewel among stones,
That glittereth not,
A light from the shadows,
Brought darkness to naught.
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Come, I seek a bargain with thee:
For the least of all these,
Of the great you'll have three;
For the least of all these,
You'll have friendship with me.
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

This ones pretty easy,

At night come they come without being told
At day they are lost without being stolen

An untiring servant it is, carrying loads across muddy earth.
But one thing that cannot be forced, is a return to the place of its birth.

Rings! Specifically Sauron asking the dwarves of Erebor for Bilbo's ring, in return for three dwarf rings.

I would think that it would be the Elves, not the Dwarves, they got 7 rings and the Elves got three.
