Not too bad. They've got a little wear n tear on them and they leak water in the seams but I still like them.

I treated mine with beeswax and haven't had any leaks since.

Good idea! I just sealed them up with flex glue two days ago. So far so good.

Weird question but how did you keep your beeswax from hardening as soon as you applied it? I've melted some to apply it on a project I'm working on and as soon as it goes on it hardens instead of seeping into the leather.

I mix beeswax 50/50 (by volume) with turpentine (real stuff not substitute) to make a soft wax polish that 'cures'.
If I want it to stay 'slushy' I mix beeswax and tallow and if I'm after 'blackball' (18th Century military boot polish) I'll add some carbon black ( basically soot, sold as pigment)

^ like that, but mine was neetsfoot oil and beeswax, applied hot to leather that was warmed up so it soaked in and impregnated everything.

Two questions, what colour did you have the boots made in? According to their drop down menu it's a limited choice.

Second where did you get that glove? Looks awesome

Hey thank you! I got them in black. I'm not sure if they list them in black but I called them up to set up my order. The gloves are from Medieval Collectibles.

Thanks. What type of sole did you go for and how is it holding up?

You bet! I think its the roper sole? Its rubber. They are holding up pretty good. There is some wear on the tip of my right boot.

Thank you! I'll be sure to make my leather warmer the next time I try it.
