"Unpacked" Video Series

Greetings!

Over the coming weeks and months, the MERS will be presenting a string of videos showing various traveller's packs and other necessaries from the inside out. None of these videos will show a complete kit, but rather one smaller aspect of the whole. Starting out, we are unpacking a Third Age Ranger's snapsack, and will continue on in the future to cover various packs, belts, bedrolls, and more!

Oh very nice!

... I especially appreciated how you tuck the pot lid away to keep it from rattling. It's the little things. :)

Also I'd never realized quite how svelte that quiver you made is - nicely done!

out of curiosity, is there a smell/taste transfer between your tobacco and your pork, kept together in the pot like that? Or is it that you don't mind if there is?

That's a great pack. Everything you need and not too big.

I've never noticed any flavor transfer at all. That Goosebay Workshops tin box has a pretty wide overlap of the two halves, so it's pretty well sealed. Can't hardly even smell it through the tin.

Thanks! I've been cutting out the stuff I don't need for a VERY long time. Just bear in mind...this doesn't cover my belt, weapons, or bedroll, so there IS more...but it all follows the same philosophy.

Nice, looks like a great bit of kit. I especially like that iron pot, has a lot of character in it's design.

Awesome. I love the format. No need to complicate things with talking or loud music. Just a simple show-no-tell with some soft music and captions explaining hits the spot.

Looking forward to the Bedroll and Belt videos. I'm still trying to sort out my belt configuration and also thinking of how I want to carry my blanket from Elleth.

Nice video, and a great way to show both what kit you have and how you pack it :P

Very cool Greg. Look forward to seeing belt, weapons, bedroll etc if that's coming in the future.

I really like the format, no talk, no cheesy 'insert random medieval tune'

Does the cattail mat do much to break ground contact? Or does the chill still seep through?
