Axe throwing video thread poll

Post by Avery P. »

Hello all,

I intend to make a little more effort to be a part of the boards here, you all seem like a great group and I like being on a laid back forum with like minded people.

As such, I did a series of axe throwing videos awhile back for the folks on the old S.B.G. forum. They basically teach the proper form of throwing at different paces and techniques for competition throwing. Although I love sharing info, I don't want to come off as prententious or make it look like I just want to get more views for my vids.....I'm amazed theyve even been watched at all. :P

Hence the poll. If folks think they'd like to have them all in one thread to watch, I figure to put it in the WMA/NMA board. Feel free to answer honestly, there are some fun options for choices.

Just a little more about my throwing so it doesn't look like I haven't a clue what I'm doing; I've competed in various axe competitions since I was about 13. I've been involved with Highland Game, Mountain Man and Lumberjack competitions. I've medaled in quite a few, so I hope I may have something to share.

Oh, and it's 5 votes per person, not one. So, if anything else, let's have fun with it.

Is it bad that I was sorely tempted to vote for the last option? :P

Either way, I vote put them up!

Lol, your choices are like Lay's potato chips, can't pick just one ;)

Would love to see the videos, always good to have instructions to refer to.

Lol, I'm glad folks like the choices offered, I tried to be creative. So what I'm getting from the poll is this; You'd like to seem them if I find a better looking presenter after having carnal relations with a mythical creature while bragging about it later to get the glory. All the time it's really my parents fault for poor raising and the real reason you'll tolerate them is because you feel pity?

Awesome, I'll get a thread going.

Edit: I never realized this before, is there no way to actually link a video to where it can be watched without following the link?

I just tried it now, and I couldn't get a vid attached either. I guess you'll have to use a link.

I want to see the pretty viking gal strapped to the spinning wooden
wheel as your flying axes land harmlessly around about her into the
wheel, of course she must be smoking a stogie at the same time 8)
If not, I still look forward to your vids, I have enjoyed them immensely
in the past and have learned some cool things from them.

Went with the first option. I threw pretty decent at the meet up but I'm certainly interested in learning more from you.

Also I had to throw my other votes on the last four, too funny not to.

Lol, well, it's all I could think of without getting real dirty...

Well, I wonder how hard it would be for the admin here to add the youtube option? I can do a thread with just a link to my channel, but there's a few useless videos on there that can get in the way.

Here's a link for the time being and let me know what yall think.

Edit to add: @Aaron - I think you did real well for a first timer. Mainly, it's all muscle memory after you get into it. Just like shooting any bow with no sights. As for the choices you picked, I think it's hilarious.

Hey Paul, nice to see you around as well!

I would love to see them all on one thread as kind of a video book with several chapters. I find it difficult to get them al and in the right order when hunting on Youtube.

Yeah, that's why I'd like to be able to put them here. I asked Pete what can be done, if anything, so here's hoping.

I've not clicked on your link or watched the videos myself, but if you are looking for a way to get them more organized, perhaps you could try creating a youtube playlist?
