This is a real sweet axe and I'd jump on it if I wasn't tapped out:

The Sword of Roven didn't sell at $95 so he relisted it at $85. It has some scratches but is an extremely good deal at $85.

The Darksword alone is worth the asking price of both.

This is an old MRL axe, from one of the catalogs in the first 2 years. That would put this axe around 1985-86. During this time MRL was dealing with only a few vendors, Del Tin, primarily but also Chris Poor of A&A. I believe this axe is an early A&A Horseman's axe. I've had a newer model and there is a great deal of construction similarities. If this is an early A&A it is worth a good deal more than the asking price.

Another axe- the Mammen from Cold Steel, this is a discontinued handaxe about the size of a tomahawk so check out the dimensions, it might be a bit small for some of the larger members:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231066073916?ss ... 1423.l2649
This next one is a Allan Foundry Viking Bearded axe:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231066078462?ss ... 1423.l2649
Allan axes have got some great reviews. I have one and can attest to it, although not this model.
Good luck to any of the axe men/women out there.
This next one's not an axe:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181228813657?ss ... 1423.l2649
Albion Museum Line Sword of Turin still a reasonable price

Actually, it is the "Tewkesbury Axe", similar in general design but fairly different in particulars. While the Horseman's Axe is still sold by A&A, the Tewkesbury has not been made in some time. I might bid on this one, if only to snatch such a bargain for rework in the shop to correct historical inaccuracies.Peter Remling wrote:This is an old MRL axe, from one of the catalogs in the first 2 years. Good Luck with it. Even if you just clean it up you should easily be able to get twice the current price if you relist the auction with a copy of the catalog page for documentation.
I had most of the MRL catalogs up until about 10 years ago when I gave them to a friend who expressed an interest in the early catalogs.

A couple more interesting and very affordable items popped up tonight:
http://www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=28979
http://www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=28978
There are a total of seven swords being offered by this seller- at least 4 of them are well worth the $80-100 he's asking for each.
Good clean up or project swords

Funny, just this past week I finally snagged the one catalogue I was missing from my collection, No. 36.Peter Remling wrote:

Surprised you didn't keep the catalogues, if only to be able to ID the older stuff that crops up from time to time on fleaBay. Hope you got something nice in return - that was certainly a princely gift!
