Bastard or Claymore Back sheath

Post by Ringulf »

A few months ago I took a commission at a Celtic fair for a Claymore back sheath.
After a bit of research and testing I came up with a nice model that would house either a standard claymore or my Strider sword.
Now we Dwarves don't mind using these little beauties, though they feel a bit light in the hand, but carriage has always been a problem to those of us with The Maker's idea of propper leg size. Of course you know the drill on these things, gotta clear the bottom of the sheath so that you get a better angle on the draw and the upper hooks let you pull the whole blade out and around when it clears so you don't need the arms of Orangutan to draw the sword. Yeah well it works.

I have some pics with me wearing it and even a drawing video that I can put up next but here is the weapon and sheath by itself. Enjoy!
I am Ringulf the Dwarven Woodsman, I craft leather, wood, metal, and clay,
I throw axes, seaxes, and pointy sticks, And I fire my bow through the day.
Come be my ally, lift up your mead! We'll search out our foes and the Eagles we'll feed!

Well this is all well and good but I can't seem to figure out how to rotate the thing so you don't have to lay on your side to see it! If any of you Tech Wizards out there have any advice, I'm listening!

My Dwarfy size is supposed to make it look big...hence the back quiver...but I must have a bit more than a drop of Beorning blood mixed in with the Khazad!
