Says my IP is blacklisted…anyone know why that happens?
I’ve tried to post several times from my laptop at home over the last couple of weeks and every time that’s happened I am kept from posting and told my IP is blacklisted. Anyone know why that might be happening? I’m posting from my phone rn in the hopes that it will get through, but this forum is not very mobile friendly, at least for me.

That happened to me several years ago. I'm still not sure about the source of the problem, but I'll do some digging on your profile and see what I can come up with.

There doesn't appear to be an issue from what I can see. Your account is open and there have been no changes made to it. When approving a NEW account we can decline due to an issue with a particular IP address, although this isn't the case here and declining someone else's IP wouldn't affect your account. Greg may know more about it than I but it looks like the issue is more likely with your service provider. Give Greg a little while to look further into it from this end though.

I did a little reading on the subject of Blacklisted IPs and it stems from several possible issues. First, if you send out spam or your server is not configured correctly. The next and most likely is a virus that is attaching itself to outgoing emails or posts. Hopefully this helps a bit.

OK, this happened to me a few days ago, the forum uses an IP and Domain Reputation Checker protocol called spamhaus, they have recently changed there policy on a number of things to do with hosting local web servers and mail servers, they probably updated lot's of other things to. I got blacklisted because my household host a web server that sends e-mails (as part of it's diagnostics) to one of our e-mail addresses but the e-mails it sends are unauthenticated, this is what I got told:
that's unlikely to be the same reason yours, but whether you understand any of that or not, there is an easy fix: If it's a domestic IP, every time you disconnect your router your IP address will change, so if you unplug your router from network and power, wait a minute or two and plug it all back in again you will have a new IP that shouldn't be blacklisted
...good luck getting it to work, and bonus points if you can work out why your IP got blacklisted in the first place
The PBL database blacklists end-user IP address ranges which should not be delivering unauthenticated email to any mail server except those provided for specifically for that customer's use

This is usually due to a firewall setting. Or your ISP may be blocking some types of traffic. You aren't randomizing (spoofing) your IP or MAC address are you? Browser settings can also cause this. You also might want to try and use another DNS server like (9.9.9.10)Barandir wrote: ↑Thu Nov 24, 2022 4:21 am I’ve tried to post several times from my laptop at home over the last couple of weeks and every time that’s happened I am kept from posting and told my IP is blacklisted.
