What a way to start a new year, found this Forum and folk on the same path.
Mike the Blacksmith here, because I am. Grew up in my Grandfathers blacksmith shop and spent my working years blacksmithing/metalsmithing. Retired now but my shop is fully functional. Early last year I found some "Ranger" videos on you tube. I was intrigued. In the past I have been involved with historical reenacting from the SCA , Fur Trade to the American Wild West. I grew up in a family where both my parents practiced with longbows at the archery butts in the county park with me in a crib. I still have their bows and added mine to the collection.
I live in the woods in the driftless region of Wisconsin and am involved with green woodworking,bushcraft and leatherwork among other things.
I had read "The Steading" by Peter James Wood, it was billed as Tolkienesque. Maybe? I still enjoyed it but then had to dive back into the Hobbit. I haven't read all the later released books but now feel the urge. So many new Hobbit holes to explore .
My DNA is Viking, it may explain my looking for adventures.

Welcome to the Forums Mike, I'm sure you will find much to your liking!
But the white fury of the Northmen burned the hotter, and more skilled was their knighthood with long spears and bitter. Fewer were they but they clove through the Southrons like a fire-bolt in a forest.
