Check out ths backpack!

Hard Kit is all other accoutrements that are not clothing, weapons or armour. This includes pots and tents, and flint & steel, and other things like that.

That's a really nice little design. I might have to try to make something like that.
Still round the corner there may wait a new road or a secret gate and though I oft have passed them by a day will come at last when I shall take the hidden paths that run west of the moon, east of the sun.

I really, really like that a lot! I think it would work better than my old canvas 18th century style longhunters pack. More stylish too. Nice for when the leather ranger pouch wont hold everything. I can't afford it, but its inspirational to perhaps make something a bit like it.

Good find, friend. Thank you for sharing with us.

For that price it had better include a porter to carry it...
Here I stand...unbowed, unbent, unbroken.

And perhaps a few coconut shells to bang together!

Forward faithful Patsy!

Personally, I have been packing primitive style for over 30 years now, & I find these packs stylish but not very practicle. True we can survive out there with very little gear, without taking any in fact, but most of what I carry could be termed "comfort needs". Items to make one's stay in the woods a little more comfortable than having to construct brush shelters, no cups of hot tea, cold at night for want of a blanket etc etc.
My pack is equiped for long term wilderness living, because in reality I do not know how long I will be out there relying on my skills & equipment.

As you can see I have added my Market Wallet secured under the knapsack flap along with my oilcloth. This market wallet contains extra trail foods & my bottle of rum. There is not a lot to forage in the winter!

Looks like a neat pack caedmon, the chest strap is definately a plus, I fitted one on mine once I established it was authentic for my period.
