I can’t believe it didn’t occur to me until JUST NOW, but about a year ago I started making informative posts regarding specific elements of kit and clothing aimed at newcomers for my Misty Mountain Rangers group on Facebook, and they have been EXTREMELY helpful when someone asks one of the inevitable questions like “what piece of kit should I start with,” etc. because I can just go, “OH HEY! I already have a huge write-up about that exact thing, along with keyword resources and tons of links! Here you go!”
Unfortunately though, they’re only technically accessible if you’re a member of the Misty Mountain Rangers Facebook group, so I have started to copy all of them into Google Docs, including pics, links - the whole nine yards! So I’m starting this thread in case anyone around here might benefit from them! I have already covered the topics of boots/shoes, tunics, and the Star of the Dúnedain - and will hopefully be posting more, covering such basic elements as water vessels, cloaks, pouches/packs, and likely a plethora of other pertinent subjects that come up perennially in these circles (I will likely also be folding some of the info from these posts into my Middle-earth Rangers Handbook as time goes on). If you have any suggestions for topics you think I should cover next, please feel free to let me know!
Here are the first ones I’ve got!

Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.
Aragorn: It's the beards.

Awesome stuff Manv. Thank you for posting these. We really need to get together soon to brainstorm that handbook update.
