Very nice.

Nope I rehabbed the stock one. The leather/faux leather it was covered in dried out and split, the core was split and cracked from the get go so I stripped it down, filled holes, re-glued it, sanded, and did a linseed oil/bees wax treatment.I would like to make a new one but it's not in the cards at the moment.I'm not really a very crafty person, I mean I like to try and make things but I'm not very good at it. So most of my stuff is bought either from ebay or various web sites, now I do personalize most of my kit in whatever way possible.I did make the bola and did the cordage for my slings oh and I make my own bowstrings, but nothing compared to what most of you all are capable of.

First off, Johnathan your kit is fantastic and I really enjoyed the pictures. Secondly since we are not too far from each other, if you ever need something made or want some help I am sure we could find a way of making that happen.
I know you have some great advice and have helped me along several times on this board already. I still need some bowstrings and you need a scabard perhaps we can help each other? let me know I would enjoy the chance to get to meet another "southern" Ranger"!

Ringulf, Thank you for your kind words. Yeah I don't think there are many of us in Florida, especially down here where I'm at.

You are in the SCA aren't you? Were you planning on coming to coronnation in September? if so, perhaps we could meet?

Send me a PM if you would like to make plans, I am not far from Camp Ocala and would be day tripping it most likely, but a crash zone could be available with me as well. Brandwyn who is on the forum and my son Arbitus(his Ranger name) will be participating also.

I will most likely be helping run the throwing weapons range and doing a lot of archery. I am going to work on getting my Authorization to be The shire's Ranger.

Here are some pictures of the stuff in my kit.I'll get a picture of me wearing it all when it stops being 100+ degrees.

My green viking tunic worn under everything, or alone if it's too hot.
Image

My gambeson, worn under my maille or by itself.

Image

My maille half riveted/ half solid flat rings modified and fitted my me.

Image

My cloak, Brown with a hint of green in the right light.

Image

The second most comfortable boots I have ever worn.

Image

My belt, sword maintenance kit, pouch, and sheath

Image

My vambraces

Image

My quiver, hammock/bedroll, rope with grappling hook, 20 arrows, and shortbow

Image

My by-knife, fighting knife, and Francisca axe.

Image

And my sword, Glantir. Made by Christian Fletcher. It's based on the Borderwatch, but with a few modifications to the dimensions. More of an an actual longsword than the bastard/ hand & a half that the typical Borderwatch falls under.

The finish shot from Christian
