The frontier moves with the sun and pushes the Red Man of these wilderness forests in front of it... until one day there will be nowhere left. Then our race will be no more, or be not us.

Wow...what a pretty blade! Heck, I'd take that table she's laying on!
Now the sword shall come from under the cloak.

Re: New Sword from micheal Pikula
Thanks guys. This sword is based on two examples from my armoury
The XIV blade and grip are based on this example: http://www.myarmoury.com/view.html?feat ... txiv03.jpg
The fittings are based on this type X example: http://www.myarmoury.com/view.html?feat ... potx08.jpg
Micheal absolutely nailed my vision of this sword and he was incredible to work with. I cant say enough good things about Micheal Pikula

Re: New Sword from micheal Pikula
Is that the XIV from the royal armories? Funny you should choose that blade. I had Michael draw up a copy of that one. We're planning to do the inlays and everything. I'd say great minds think alike but I"m not so sure my mind is great. Anyhoo she's a lovely sword and Michael is a VERY underrated smith for the moment. He's fantastic to work with and really does stand behind what he makes. I'd urge any of you whom are interested in a custom to seriously consider him.

Mike, Yes, this sword is based on the one housed in the Royal Armouries Leeds, the inscription on the original was TOTOTOTO apparently signifying loyalty, That was found in a peat bog in Northern Italy.

It seems my Ellenthriste is making the rounds Half of her scabbard is hollowed and lined I will post this project in crafts and skills as I have a new take on hollowing scabbard cores alot of home builders might find interesting that puts a historical two peice scabbard in almost anyones reach
