So while the blizzard winds down, I'm going over kit, trying to figure out if I have sufficient ranger kit to do a real harsh weather day in the woods. I'm looking at some of my 16th c stuff and some of my 18th c stuff, trying to decide what will cross over and what won't. And then it occurs to me. It would be a Really Good Thing if there was a series of books like the Osprey Warrior series showing development of Middle Earth races and characters, complete with kit layouts, equipment and weaponry details, and clothing/uniform pictures.

...and you think we should be the ones to do it, eh?
I like it...got any ideas on how to make it happen? We've discussed assembling a wiki page, and Jbook is working on putting together a Middle Earth Reenactment newsletter.

It is a nifty idea. I suspect some of us here could do such a project justice, yes indeed.

I agree! And we would be making our mark in the Tolkien community!
