Númenórean Penannular Brooch
Númenórean Penannular Brooch
Over on the
Númenórean design motifs thread, Caedmon had drawn up some nice penannular brooches. With his permission, last month I tackled bringing some of these into reality.
I've cast several of these but none are final yet, and I worked this example up with a placeholder pin. The completed version will be more elaborate. Bronze, about 3 in. (75 mm) in diameter.

Quite frankly jaw-dropping! You and Caedmon should be very proud because they look amazing. I don't know if you are for sure selling these but I would love love love to pick one up.

Thank you all for your kind words.
I was planning to enamel some of them, eventually.RangerofAngmar wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 2:30 am if you could somehow work some silver into that carvings it would be insane

Oh - those are lovely!
... the enameling sounds awesome! Anglo-Saxon / Carologian inspiration there? I can't wait to see!

Insanely cool execution on these, Odigan! Enamel will make them pop even more (and its even a numenorean-appropriate method--see the karma helmet). I'm definitely going to have to get one for spoils of war for a new impression I'm brainstorming ; )
