feel free to add your own, you don't need to be in kit, you just need to be on an awesome adventure, and I'd love to see photo's of those beautiful mountains you speak of in your introduction threadDesert Loon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 5:20 am New guy here. Re: MERF Random Adventure Pictures
Starting out very nice and easy: here are some winter scenes from a park near my house - from last New Year's Day in fact. I like to take my daughters there and watch them explore the paths through the woods and find "the fairy realm." It's a tame little park but it's definitely one of those gateway places.
A misty view of a local peak
The little stream running through the park
The shore of the pond, viewed from the frozen surface
Duck tracks on the pond
Scrub oak
Snow on the leaf mould

That first photo is incredible, it looks just like a scene from the Misty mountains

Absolutely gorgeous scenery! Reminds me a lot of the areas around here in CO - but then, in Utah you’re pretty darned close to us out here!

Yeah, I'm grateful to live in this part of the world!
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I'll find some more pictures from summer soon.

Re: MERF Random Adventure Pictures
it's been a while since I last uploaded photo's on here, so this was yesterday:
unfortunately I didn't get the chance to go on the long adventure I had planned, I might post about why if I have time

Your kit is really coming along Iodo! And your yule pack fits in perfectly.
But the white fury of the Northmen burned the hotter, and more skilled was their knighthood with long spears and bitter. Fewer were they but they clove through the Southrons like a fire-bolt in a forest.

Hey Guys,
Just pulled down the pics from my Scout Troop's Winter Survival Camping trip this last weekend. We went to one of our guy's remote family cabin about 60 miles north of Fairbanks (red marker). (about 500 miles north of us (blue marker), and 100 mile south of the Arctic Circle.
We built and slept in quinzhees for two nights. The first night was -22° (-30°C), the second was -44° (-42°C). We all survived, and had some beautiful vistas. Obviously not in my ranger gear, but almost entirely in natural fibers (except my sleeping bag). I have several images of the quinzhees, the weird pic that looks like lava is lantern light filtering through a foot of snow.
