Been lurking around and finally decided to join
Greetings all,
I came across the site awhile back, and have to say I really enjoyed it. I bookmarked it and returned often to wander about and read threads. I noticed many familiar folks here from over on SBG Forum which I have been a member for quite awhile. Which made me smile to see folks I already knew.
For those I don't already know, I am into bushcrafting and prepping as well as swords and archery. I have moved all over the country, Born in the Midwest, grew up in the Northwest, spent a decent amount of time on the Eastcoast, lived in an intentional community in AZ, and lots more. I have spent a great deal of my life out in the woods, swamps, deserts, and medows. As a kid I spent more time in the woods teaching myself bushcraft (I just thought I was playing and having fun) than in playgrounds or at friend's homes.
For me I just feel much more at home out in nature than in a house. One of the happiest times I had was when working Trail maintenance in the Cascades. Living and working in the woods was pure happiness for me. With only occasional trips into town to resupply then head back into the woods.
I guess this is part of what makes me identify as a Ranger.
My kit is not finished, but I have a decent start on it. With a Raven's Wood Ranger jerkin, a Valiant Armory Malatesta, and a Mountain Hunter elite quiver from Hidehandler on order. My bow is not period appropriate being a Samick Sage, but I do hope to get another bow soon that will be more appropriate. Hopefully I will be able to slowly finish out my kit to my satisfaction, and others.
I hope to meet plenty of new friends here, and really like the site.

Welcome! I'm envious of the time you spent in the Cascades- I spent a couple of weeks doing trail maintenance in the Blue Ridge Mountains and loved it.

Thanks for the welcome.
I will do my best to post up some pics, though have to say I am bad with remembering to take pictures and have only the camera my phone provides. I do agree pics are great and really do make threads a lot more interesting. I have been enjoying some of the pics of Ranger kits and it is actually a google image search of ranger kits that is how I found this site.
The Cascades are a great place, though damp. LOL. I am in NJ now and miss the mountains, but the Pine Barrens are a unique and interesting place too. I think every region has some interesting and fun wilderness.

Welcome! I hear you about the mountains - I spent a couple years in coastal California, and while it was beautiful, I could just never adjust to not having hardwood forests and real seasons. Some souls need a particular environment to really feel at peace I think.
Looking forward to stories and pictures from your travels!
(PS... nice quiver! Thank you for the link!)
