Re: There's a hole in the bucket...
I do some woodworking myself and have sold several food safe items, mainly goblets. I use and would recommend Salad Bowl Finish. If you have a wood workers supply near you then you should be able to find it but Lowes and Home Depot do not carry it. I would also suggest Rockler, they're a good compan...

N.C. Ren Faire
Was just wondering if anyone plans on going to the Ren Faire in Huntersville and if so, when? I plan on being there this Saturday, but am meeting some family I haven't seen in quite a while. Would be interested in a quick meet and greet if others plan to attend though.

Re: New Finds- Please read the first post before replying
I've been looking around for a new knife and came across this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/161421333/custom-hand-forged-rail-road-spike-knife?ref=sr_gallery_43&ga_search_query=hand+forged+knife&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery I thought it looked, perhaps, like a tro...

Stomach Waterskin
For some time now I've been thinking of how to carry water while in the woods. What I would like to do is make an actual waterskin out of the stomach of a deer. I'm hoping that once deer season starts I might get lucky and have a fresh stomach to work with. However, I really have no idea how to go a...

Okay, I was hoping not to be the first one to have to ask this, but how do you add yourself? I suck with computers and anything Google is an even stranger foreign language to me.

Re: A guide I made on the Dagorhir forums
Really cool article Nemo, I definitely plan to use it while making my own garb and gear. I like the idea of using your spare clothes pouch as a pillow, do you have any more pictures of your gear somewhere on this forum? I'd really like to see what all you use.

Re: New to the Forum
Ringulf, thank you for the encouraging words, and thank your for sharing some of your history as well. I'm glad you were able to find yourself again, you seem like a wonderful person. To answer you question, Cooper is my last name but not my trade. I've always wanted to actually learn how or at leas...

Re: the Foxfire Books.
Just a little side note, if you enjoy the Foxfire Books you may want to look for a magazine titled "The Backwoodsman." It's along the same line as the books, I feel.

Re: the Foxfire Books.
I agree, fabulous books! My parents had the first 4 which I flipped though often growing up. I own a few and wish to purchase more, Boone, NC isn't the best place in terms of bookstores though.

Thank you for the reply Avery. Just curious, was the store in Boone Dancing Moon? I've actually sold some woodworking there (and am due to bring in some more if I'll ever get the lead out). I really like your point about leading by example, something I'll need to keep in mind more often!

Re: Soft Leather Belt pouch (aka sporron)
Great pouch, really nice work. Thanks to this forum I just started "Dies the Fire" I'm really looking forward to it. Do you wear the pouch off to the side as it is in the picture, or on the front like a sporron?

Fox, I'm very happy you've found someone to compliment you so well in life, congratulations on that. Oddly eno...

Re: Ranger Designs
Thanks for the advice! I especially like the idea of a map which can be built upon as I travel, perhaps a bestiary as well? The leatherwork is wonderful, it looks like you'll have a wonderful piece soon. Will you be posting pictures once you receive it?

Re: New to the Forum
Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm excited to be a part of this community and hope to earn my keep. I do have one question that nags at me from time to time and would like your opinions on it. I mean no offense by this, but I notice several of you have significant others (like myself) and some ...
